EMPTIES โ€“ #21 WOULD I REPURCHASE? (PUMPED OR DUMPED)

Standard

I haven’t done an empties since June! ๐Ÿ˜ฎ I’ve accumulated quite a bit so I’m just going to start.

img_8103

Sephora – Dry Clean Instant Dry Brush Cleaner Spray – Retails for $14.00 – Pumped

I really liked this brush cleaner for spot cleaning brushes in between my shampooing. It didn’t leave a greasy feeling and did a great job of cleaning the brushes. However, I really like the Make Up Forever Instant Brush Cleaner as well and it retails for $12.00 for 1.69 and the bottle isn’t aerosol so I’ve repurchased that instead.

img_8105

Burt’s Bees – Herbal Blemish Stick – Retails for $7.99 at ULTA – Pumped

I really like this for my blemishes. It is all natural and works to dry up my spots. It’s in a roller ball so it’s easy to use as well and I’ve repurchased it several times.

img_8104

Dionis – Crisp Pear Hand Cream – Retails for $2.99 from ULTA – Meh

This smelled nice and worked okay, but it didn’t feel any different to me than any other lotion. I’ve been on the search for a good hand cream so we’ll see if I can find a really good one. They have one at Sally’s, but I always forget to pick it up when I’m there for hair color. Haha

img_8017

LiveBeautifullyBody – Feel Better Butter Rest & Relax – Retails for $3.50 – Pumped

This is the sample size and the bigger size retails for $15.00 for 2 oz. It is a body butter made of shea and cocoa butter with essential oils in it to help you relax and sleep and it smells so good. I have repurchased the larger size. It does help calm me to sleep, but I’ve also used it during meditation or when I’m feeling anxious.

img_8018

Derek Lam 10 Crosby – Rain Day – Full Size Retails for $95 for 1.7 oz – Meh

I mean, this smelled nice and I would purchase it if it weren’t so expensive. Don’t get me wrong, I’ll spend the money if the scent blows me away, but this wasn’t worth the $95 to me.

img_7956

Terry Mulger – Alien – Full Size Retails for $82 for 1 oz. – Pumped

Now this. This is worth the money for me and I’ve already purchased the full size. I love this scent. I can’t describe it so here are the notes.ย Solar Accord, Jasmine Sambac, Green Notes, Cashmeran, Vanilla, Transparent Amber. I don’t know what half of this stuff is, but it smells delicious.

img_7994

Nest – Citrine – Full Size Retails for $25 for the rollerball – Meh

I liked this scent, but I wouldn’t purchase the full size. It was just okay to me. It didn’t seem to last very long on me.

img_8013

Benefit – Roller Lash – Full Size Retails for $24.00 – Meh

Bare Minerals – Lash Domination – Full Size Retails for $19.00 – Dumped

MAC – False Lashes Extreme Black – Full Size Retails for $23.00 – Dumped

I really didn’t like any of these mascaras. The Roller Lash was okay, but I wouldn’t purchase the full size because I didn’t feel like it didn’t do anything spectacular to my lashes. The Lash Domination wand kept poking me in the eye and the formula was really watery so I didn’t even finish it. And the MAC mascara was just terrible to me. The wand and the formula did not work with my lashes at all.

img_8014

Supergoop – Defense Refresh Setting Mist SPF 50 – Full Size Retails for $12.00 for 1 oz –ย Dumped

This didn’t seem to make my makeup last longer and it sprayed out in a really wet spray versus a fine mist. I did like that it had an SPF in it, but it wasn’t a fun experience to use.

img_7955

Too Faced – Primed & Powerless Skin Smoothing Face Primer – Full Size Retails for $30.00 -Dumped

Cover Fx – Mattifying Primer – Full Size Retails for $38.00 – Dumped

I didn’t like either one of these primers. I tried them with different foundations and they made my foundation break apart and they balled up. I tried using a little, a lot, over different moisturizers and will different foundations. I don’t understand the hype, although I know that everyone’s skin is different.

img_7982

Burt’s Bees – Intense Hydration Eye Cream – Retails for $12.99 at Target – Pumped

I really liked this eye cream. It was thick, but it absorbed nicely and didn’t leave any residue behind so I could wear it under my makeup. I would repurchase if I could find it again.

img_7980

Burt’s Bees – Cleansing Oil – Full Size Retails for $15.99 for 6 oz – Meh

This worked okay for light makeup, but didn’t take all of my eye makeup off. I had to go back in with a micellar water to remove the rest of my eye makeup. I used it all, but I wouldn’t repurchase.

Thank y’all for reading about my trash and I hope that you are having a great week!

FINISH 5 BY FALL (+1 BONUS PRODUCT) โ€“ PROJECT PAN CHALLENGE โ€“ FINALE

Standard

The first official day of fall is 9/22/16 so it is time for my Finish 5 by Fall Project Pan Challenge Finale! Spoiler Alert, I didn’t finish all of my products, but I did a pretty decent job and I’m impressed with the progress that I’ve made. It’s been less than a month since my last update (which you can check out here) because I had a big gap between my first and second updates due to being ill most of July. You can read my first update and intro post here.

img_8016ย Finale

IMG_7989ย Second Update

IMG_7816ย First Update

IMG_7635

Intro Pic

This is the It Cosmetics Celebration Foundation and I am really impressed with how much progress I’ve made during this project. I haven’t use it every day, by any means, and I’ve still hit major pan. I will continue using this until it’s used up and I already have a back up of it. I really love using it over a BB cream or by itself.

IMG_7992 img_8020

The top one is from the last update and the bottom one is the most recent. When I first started using it for the project it was a brand new shadow and this is a ColourPop shadow in Hanky Panky. It’s hard to tell progress with these shadows because of their consistency. They kind of just get smushed around in the pan, but I do love using this as a base or by itself so I will continue using it, but maybe not every day because I’m not in a huge hurry to use it up now that I know that I love it.

I did declutter that entire Lorac palette though so I’ll count that as using up a product.

img_8015

I used up this Marc Jacobs gloss on top of the Too Faced one so that is 2 glosses total, but since they were deluxe sample sizes I’ll count them as one.

I decluttered the Sinful Colors polish that I originally had in the project so I’ll count that as a product used up so we’re up to 3.

img_8021

I’ve made great progress on the Model Co lip liner and actually just got a new one in my Lip Monthly box. Lol I will continue using it up and move on to another liner in my collection, probably a darker one for fall. We’ll just have to see. I have been using that UD Naked mini lipstick, but it just doesn’t want to show any progress! I will continue using it up and have a full size back up in my collection, but I am getting sick of the color so I may have to switch it up for the next PP challenge.

Overall, I finished 3 of the 6 products and made major progress on the lip liner and foundation so I’m happy with the way this challenge went. I’ll have to check around to see if there are any fun PP challenges floating around other than the 13 by Halloween because I already know I won’t finish 13 products in 6 weeks. Haha.

I hope that y’all have a great week! โค

FINISH 5 BY FALL (+1 BONUS PRODUCT) โ€“ PROJECT PAN CHALLENGE โ€“ UPDATE #2

Standard

It’s been 9 weeks since my last update because I was sick the entire month of July and didn’t use any of the products/didn’t wear any makeup. You can read my update #1 here and my intro post here!

IMG_7989 IMG_7816

I’ve made some good progress considering I went an entire month without wearing any makeup!

IMG_7992

I ended up decluttering that Lorac palette (gave it to my mom) so I added in this Colourpop shadow in Hanky Panky, but I forgot to take a before picture so here is where I am right now.

IMG_7990

I used up the Too Faced gloss so I added in the Marc Jacobs gloss in Kissability. It’s not my favorite and I already know that I wouldn’t purchase the full size, but there isn’t very much in the tube so I will finish it up pretty quickly.

I ended up tossing that Sinful Colors polish because it just kept getting thicker and thicker. I didn’t add in another polish because I am currently going through all of my polishes to declutter them at the moment.

IMG_7991

I made pretty good progress on both the lipliner as well as the Naked lipstick. I anticipate using up the lipliner for sure if not both products by the end of the project.

I have about 3 1/2 weeks left in the project and I am going to guess that the lip products will be used up, but that the powder foundation will not be and possibly the eyeshadow depending on how often I wear makeup between now and then. It’s a cream shadow so it’s hard to tell. My next post will be the finale post so we’ll just have to see!

Thank you so much for reading and I hope that you are having a great weekend! โค

EMPTIES โ€“ #17 WOULD I REPURCHASE? (PUMPED OR DUMPED)

Standard

I’ve accumulated quite a few empties so I decided to do another empties post even though it’s only been about a month since my last one! I have thrown away some hand soaps, samples, etc. that I have just felt ambivalent about like I mentioned last time.

IMG_7111

Michael Todd – Organic Lemon AHA + DMAE Toner – Full Size 8.4 oz Retails for $19.00 – Pumped

I really liked this toner and felt like it helped keep my skin from getting too oily. I don’t have a lot of texture problems so I can’t speak on that. I like that it has good, organic ingredients and I wish that it were more available vs. purchasing online. I purchased this in a set and I would purchase the set again, but I don’t think that I’d purchase the full size by itself.

IMG_7124IMG_7280

Living Proof – Night Cap Overnight Perfector – Full Size 4 oz Retails for $28.00 – Dumped

I didn’t feel like this did anything for my hair at all. It claims to “provide up to one week of more shiny, vibrant, manageable hair overnight, with benefits that last through five shampoos.” I recently cut about 9 inches off of my hair, but I used this when my hair was still long and my hair was just as tangly and unmanageable and I still had to use a leave in conditioner after using it. Also, I had to use the entire 1 oz tube on my hair when my hair was long so that 4 oz container wouldn’t last you very long if you had long hair.

IMG_7145

It’s a 10 – Miracle Leave-In Lite – Retails for $17.96 – Pumped

I got this from ULTA when they had a coupon to get it for free a few months ago. I really liked it and it didn’t weigh my hair down, but I wouldn’t spend $18.00 on a leave in. I feel like there are detanglers from the drugstore that work just as well for 1/4 of the price. Or if you want to spend that kind of money just get something like Pureology’s Colour Fanatic that does 21 different things.

IMG_7146

Maybelline – Age Rewind Eraser Dark Circle Treatment Concealer – Retails for $8.99 – Pumped

I love this concealer and have already purchased a replacement. It hides my dark circles so well, blends in nicely and it doesn’t crease on me. What more could you want?

IMG_7147

Benefit – They’re Real mascara – Full Size Retails for $24.00 – Meh

I know right? Just meh. Lol For $24.00 I’ve tried better mascaras. This claims to be a volumizing and lengthening mascara, but it doesn’t give me very much volume. I generally layer it with another mascara. I wouldn’t purchase the full size.

IMG_7150

GLAMGLOW – Thirstycleanse Daily Hydrating Cleanser – 1 oz Retails for $14.00 – Meh

I didn’t hate this cleanser, but I wasn’t blown away by it either and that is probably because I don’t have dry skin so it’s not formulated for me. It didn’t make me any more oily than I already am though, which was nice. I wouldn’t purchase the full size because it’s formulated for people with dry, dehydrated skin and I have oily/combo skin.

IMG_7164

Big Sexy Hair – Weather Proof Humidity Resistant Spray – Full Size 5 oz Retails for 18.95 – Meh

I didn’t find that this was very humidity resistant or weather proof, but it was a nice finishing spray that didn’t make my hair crispy. I wouldn’t purchase the full size though because it didn’t hold down my baby hairs very well and that is what I really need hair spray for.

IMG_7165

Smashbox – Full Exposure Mascara – Full Size Retails for $22.00 – Meh

This is another one of those mascaras that I’m not over the moon about and for $22.00 I expect to love the way my lashes look. I wouldn’t purchase the full size. I feel like I can get the same look with just about any drug store mascara to be honest. It didn’t really give me both volume and length and that’s what I’m expecting for this price point. I shouldn’t have to layer high end mascaras. Maybe I’m just picky?

IMG_7166

Origins – A Perfect World Antioxidant Moisturizer with White Tea – Retails for $43.00 – Pumped

So I know that I didn’t pay $43.00 for this and they’ve changed the packing to a pot so I definitely wouldn’t purchase it now, but I really liked this moisturizer so that’s a bummer. I feel like I got this in a Sephora Collection skin care set or something. It was a great light weight day time moisturizer that worked well under makeup and I liked that it had SPF in it.

IMG_7167

Clinique – Skinny Stick eyeliner – Full Size Retails for $16.50 – Meh

I got this in a set so I didn’t pay full price for it, but it was really soft and kept breaking off and didn’t last very long at all. It lasted well and didn’t smudge, glided on nicely, blah blah, but the fact that I ran through it so quickly made me like *side eye emoji*. LOL I wouldn’t purchase this again.

IMG_7180

Kate Somerville – ExfoliKate Intensive Exfoliating Treatment – Retails for $24.00 (yeah…like this lil baby size) – Torn

This really was intense and I could only use it once or twice a MONTH. My skin doesn’t do well with really harsh physical exfoliators. I got this in a Sephora Favorites skin care set and I would never spend $24.00 for this lil baby tube, but it did make my skin feel amazing after I used it. I would say that if your skin does fine with rougher exfoliators and you get a lot of dead skin built up, etc this is an amazing exfoliator because it has both physical and chemical exfoliants in it.

IMG_7181

Pureology – Strength Cure Cleansing Conditioner – 8.5 oz retails for $34.00 – Pumped

This actually worked really well on my hair. I have tried other cleansing conditioners and they left my hair feeling either really dry, tangly and unmanageable or really greasy and like I didn’t wash my hair at all. This left my hair feeling clean and conditioned, which is what cleansing conditioners are suppose to do. I would consider purchasing the full size of this once I get through my stash of shampoos and conditioners because it’s both in one so the price isn’t that bad, it’s vegan, color safe and better for your hair.

IMG_7240

Clinique – Turnaround Overnight Revitalizing Moisturizer – 0.5 oz Retails for $9.50 – Meh

LOL I said that I wasn’t going to put things in here that I felt ambivalent about, but there sure are a lot of ‘Meh’ products. This was a goodย overnight moisturizer, but I just feel like there are other drugstore alternatives and great overnight moisturizers. It didn’t break me out or do anything bad to my skin, but it didn’t stand out in any way either.

IMG_7241

Got 2b – Rockin’ It Dry Shampoo – Retails for $3.99 on sale at ULTA – Pumped

This dry shampoo worked well for me and didn’t leave my hair feeling like there was too much product in my hair. It wasn’t too wet and it smelled nice. I would repurchase.

IMG_7242

White Cloud – Cotton Squares – Retails for ? – Half-Pumped

I couldn’t find these online, but I’m pretty positive that I got them at Walmart so I know that they’re affordable. I will say that they aren’t 100% lint free and sometimes the “stitched” parts can be rough on my skin. After I’m done with the other pack I have I’m going to look into reusable cotton cloths anyway because I feel like these are so wasteful since I use so many.

IMG_7243

CSI – Vitamin C + 12% Youth Serum – Retails for $16.20 – Pumped

I really liked this serum and felt like it helped fade several dark spots left over from acne. I have another bottle of it since when I purchased it from Vitacost they were doing a BOGO 50% off deal. Right now I am trying to get through some other serums, but I’m looking forward to using the other bottle of it. I felt like it helped with some texture too like if I had some milia it would help smooth it out.

IMG_7246

Dermalogica – Daily Microfoliant – Full Size 2.6 oz Retails for $55.00 – Torn

I love this stuff, but not for $55.00. Plus, I believe that Biore just came out with something similar to this so once I get through some other scrubs I’m going to have to pick that up and see if it’s a good drug store alternative. This is a dry rice enzyme powder that you sprinkle in your hands then activate with water and it’s a good gentle exfoliant that worked well with my skin.

IMG_7279

Buxom – Buxom Lash Mascara – Full Size Retails for $20.00 – Pumped

Now here’s a high end mascara I can get behind. (Who says crap like that? *eye roll emoji*) I love this mascara and felt like it gave me both volume as well as length and when I wore it got compliments on my lashes a couple of times. It is a plastic, spiky wand which always scares me because I tend to poke my eyes out with those, but I made it work. I may pick up the full size if I ever get through my stash of mascaras.

Thanks so much for reading! I know that this was a long one, but that is exciting for me because that just means that I am moving through my collection! ๐Ÿ™‚

Have a great weekend โค

Love to Project Pan – Finish 14 by Feb 14 Finale

Standard

I’ve finished up my second Project Pan challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚ You can read my intro post HERE, my first update HERE, and my last update HERE if you are interested. My last update was about 6 weeks ago to kind of give you an idea of how long it’s been between the markings.

Let’s start with what I completely finished up:

I finally finished my Boscia Makeup Breakup Cleansing Oil and I would repurchase that again in the future, but I am currently working on the one from Garnier at the moment to see if it works as well.

I also finished up my Urban Decay All Nighter setting spray and I would purchase a 1 oz bottle of that in the future because I feel like it does help my makeup stay on all day, however I am currently working through the setting sprays that I have stashed away. I have one from Vitacost that is just strictly rosewater and glycerin. I got it to see if it could be a dupe for MAC’s Fix+. It seems to be working pretty well so far, but I’ve only used it a few times. I know that I mentioned the Vitamin E spray from The Body Shop last time, but I didn’t find that that was working well to set my makeup so I set it aside for now.

I finished up the raspberry body butter from The Body Shop as well and have moved on to an in shower lotion that I got in an Influenster box, but I didn’t include it in the PP because I knew there was no way I would be finished in time.

IMG_7152

I did it! I finished the eyeshadow ‘Cream’ from my Lorac Pro palette. I literally just finished it yesterday too. Lol I am going to start working through my single shadows for my next PP challenge before I start panning a palette or anything. I really just did this one to see how difficult it would be.

Now let’s see what I wasn’t able to finish in time:

IMG_7156

At least there’s a new mark on the bottle! ๐Ÿ™‚ I will continue working on this & will move it over to my next PP challenge as well. I guess nail polish type products just take longer to use up than I had anticipated.

IMG_7155

As you can see I’ve made quite a bit of progress on this body spray in the past 6 weeks, but in reality I knew I wasn’t going to be able to finish this entire bottle in time. Having this in the PP challenge has made me more cognizant of remembering to use it though so that’s a good thing! I haven’t gotten sick of the scent yet either so I will roll this over into the next PP challenge as well.

IMG_7154

This crusty ol bottle. Lol The lines are hard to see, but the original line was up by where it says ‘Directions’ then the second line is about half way down right under ‘Not tested…’ and the new line from today is right under ‘Manufactured by.’ I am still using this every night so I will use it pretty quickly here. While I will continue using it, I’m not going to move it into the next PP challenge just because it’s become part of my skincare routine now so I don’t need help remembering to use it. ๐Ÿ™‚ I also already have a backup of this product because it was BOGO free or 50% off from Vitacost. I do really like how well it is working on my skin and it has faded several dark spots from old acne scars.

IMG_7151

Whelp…lol While I’ve made significant dents in all of the products except for the Fig side of my lipstick I am getting sick of some while others just aren’t working as well as I thought they would.

For example, the Watts Up highlighter is a good base highlighter for me, but I like to really shine like I have sequins on my face. LOL I wear it by itself if I’m doing an every day makeup look or I’ll top it with Mary Loumanizer or one of my Becca highlighters if I’m wearing a full face. Either way, it’s a cream product so it’s taking forever to finish. I will roll it over into the next PP challenge just because I would like to move it out of my collection.

I really like the Chella eyebrow pencil and will continue using it until it’s finished. I would repurchase if I couldn’t find another drugstore alternative, but I have pretty good eyebrows my themselves so I can’t really constitute spending more than a few bucks on an eyebrow product. I won’t be moving this onto the next PP challenge just because I know that I’ll finish it within the next couple of weeks without any issue.

I love the formulation of the Fig/Date Bite lipstick duo and I’m coming around to the Fig color, but I just don’t wear lipstick as much as I think I do when I’m buying lipsticks. Lol I did my makeup inventory recently and was appalled at the number of lipsticks I own. I will continue using this lipstick until it’s finished and would repurchase both shades, but I think that Bite discontinued the Luminous Creme lipstick formula and I’m slightly freaking out! ๐Ÿ˜ฆ

That Sephora Collection Nano lipliner is pretty, but it doesn’t seem to define my lips very well because it’s basically the same color as my lips and it’s too creamy to help my lipsticks stay in place so I am going to actually just toss it at this point. It doesn’t work for it’s intended purpose so it’s dumb to continue trying to use it just to use it up.

IMG_7157

I actually ended up going through a sample of Invictus by Paco Rabanne and I loved it. About a week into it I realized it was a cologne, but I may end up buying the full sized bottle of that one once I get through the rest of my samples and at least one full size bottle of one of the ones I already have. I really liked it! In all, I said that I wanted to finish 5 perfume samples and I ended up going through 4 and about half of this mini roller ball so I didn’t think that was too bad!

IMG_7153

Lol I took this one at an angle to try and show the little dent that is starting to form, but you still can’t tell from the picture. All of my pictures of this sample sized Hoola bronzer look the same. BUT, I promise you that there has been progress from Day 1. ๐Ÿ™‚ I will continue working through this bronzer and will move it over to my next PP challenge.

In all I finished 8 products if you count the perfumes as 1 product. I also ended up tossing out 2 during the project because they just ended up not working for me. So, all in all I would say that this was a pretty successful challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚

Thanks so much for reading and I hope that you have a great weekend!

Empties – #16 Would I Repurchase? (Pumped or Dumped)

Standard

Sheesh! I haven’t done an empties since the beginning of November. I will admit that I’ve been cheating and just throwing some empties away that are boring. Like the same elf clear brow gel I always have or foil samples that I just felt “meh” about. Lol What would I write? This shampoo sample was alright…moving on. ๐Ÿ™‚

I did manage to work through quite a few products. Also, I don’t remember if I mentioned this in my last empties post (I could stop being lazy and look, but I currently have bronchitis, pharyngitis and sinusitis so I have an excuse), but I’m not including the empties that I use up in my project pan challenges in these posts because they would be in two separate blog posts and that’s crazy talk.

IMG_6760IMG_7025

Bath & Body Works – Antibacterial Hand Soap – Retails for $6.50 or 6 for $24 or 4 for $20 – Pumped

I really liked both of these and would repurchase both scents if available. I’ve said a million times that I was going to stop buying BBW soaps because they’re expensive, but I always seem to work my coupons and get them for the same prices as the ones from the regular stores. Lol I do prefer the Deep Cleansing to the Gentle Foaming though because I find the foaming ones to be drying.

IMG_6761

Tarte – Gifted Amazonian Clay Smart Mascara – Retails for $21.00 – Pumped

I already have at least one back up of this, but I’m trying to use my older mascaras first. I love this formula. It makes my lashes look fuller and longer and it keeps them soft. It’s said to have a million different benefits, but do we ever really know if the products we use actually do all of the things that they claim? ๐Ÿ™‚ I just really like this mascara and I catch it on sale with Ulta’s 20% coupon that can be used on prestige items or on Tarte’s website when they have a coupon.

IMG_6826

Simple – Soothing Eye Balm – Retails for $4.98 on Amazon – Pumped

I use to use this awhile ago and then I think they discontinued it or something because now I can only find it on Amazon. It absorbs easily, works well under makeup, isn’t sticky and makes my under eyes feel hydrated. I am not extremely picky when it comes to eye creams/gels/balms, but those are the things that I look for and this ticks all of the boxes. And for a great price at that.

IMG_6827

Oribe – Superfine Hairspray – Full size (9 oz.) retails for $37.00 – I mean.

This was great, but I don’t ever see myself spending $37.00 for hairspray. Although, I’m sure at some point in my life I said I would never spend that for a lipstick and I’ve gotten pretty close. Lol I am not big on doing my hair. I’m just not good at it. So maybe if I were great at doing my hair and did it more often I would invest more money in my hair products, but for now I feel like this does the same thing asย other fine mist hairspray’s I’ve tried for a fraction of the cost. It was amazing and if it were half the cost I’d pick it up, but not for $37.00.

IMG_6911

Lee Stafford – Hair Growth Treatment – Retails for $11.99 at ULTA (Often BOGO 50% off though) – Pumped

I love this treatment and have seen lots of growth on my own hairย so when my mom talked about growing out her hair I purchased some for her for Christmas and she loves it. She actually just got herself an ULTA Rewards membership and bought two more tubs because she’s seen such great results. Not only has it helped our hair grow it makes my mom’s grey hair soft and manageable. Love it. Already repurchased and have been using.

IMG_6912

Sally Hansen – Miracle Gel Top Coat – Retails for $9.99 (currently on sale for $7.99 at ULTA) – Half Pumped

I really enjoyed this top coat while it lasted, but one day the brush started to shed and fall apart. I went to repurchase it appears that they have reformulated it. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ My sister just bought some and really loves it although the reviews are pretty bad…I just ordered some HK Girl top coat so I won’t be repurchasing this any time soon, but I would try it again if I didn’t already have some HK Girl on the way because it made my nails really hard and my polish lasted a long time.

IMG_6915

Dr. Jart+ – Black Label Detox BB Beauty Balm – Retails for $18.00 for 0.66 oz or $36.00 for 1.5 oz – Pumped

I love this BB balm and have already repurchased the smaller size because I don’t go through bases very quickly (or anything really…lol). It comes in one shade and then adjusts to your shade automatically like magic. It feels really great on my skin and gives the coverage that I need. Right now that isn’t very much thankfully, but I would say that it’s a medium coverage.

IMG_6925

Rimmel London – Just Let It Go Gentle Eye Makeup Remover – Retails for $4.49 – Dumped

I believe that I received this in an Influenster box awhile ago and it’s taken me forever to get through it because it wasn’t a very good eye makeup remover. I don’t wear a lot of eye makeup on a regular basis. I never wear liquid liner or any kind of liner on my upper lid whatsoever because I’m terrible at lining my lids due to my shaky hands so all my removers have to remove is eye shadow and usually two coats of non-waterproof mascara. I only wear waterproof if I’m feeling crazy because I have extremely dry eyes so there’s really no need. Lol In order to get this to work I would have to soak a cotton round and let it sit on my eye for awhile and I still felt like I was rubbing and tugging too much. It was too gentle…to the point of not working. I made it work to finish it up, but I wouldn’t purchase this. There are too many makeup removers out there these days to deal with those shenanigans.

Maybelline – Fit Me Concealer – Retails for $6.99 – Pumped

I love this concealer and have already repurchased as well as purchased one for a friend. It works really well under my eyes, doesn’t crease on me, blends out really well and gives great coverage. I am currently working through a million other concealers before I’m allowing myself to open my backup and it’s killing me.

IMG_7014

Psssst! – Instant Dry Shampoo Spray – Retails for $6.99 – Pumped

I am not extremely picky when it comes to dry shampoo either. I found that this one blended into my hair nicely, smelled nice and kept my hair feeling clean for longer than others have in the past. It did leave a white residue if I used too much, but I’ve decided that the white residue is just going to be my badge of honor for all of the other people out in the world who didn’t want to wash their greasy hair and have white dry shampoo residue on their heads as well.

IMG_7015

Yes to Tomatoes – Blemish Clearing Facial Towelettes – Retails for $5.99 – Half Pumped

These felt nice on my skin, but I originally bought them when I was having breakout and by the time I pulled them out of my stash I wasn’t having issues with acne anymore so I can’t really speak on how well they clear up the skin. I also am no longer going to be purchasing face wipes so I wouldn’t repurchase. I just find that they aren’t good for the skin and I need to stop being lazy and use the cleansers and toners and crap that I have been hoarding. ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_7026

Sally Hansen – Double Duty Strengthening Base & Top Coat – Retails for $4.99 – Half Dumped

First of all, yes those are teeth marks on the lid…don’t tell my dentist. So I’m half dumping this product because it’s just old you guys. I can’t even give you a good review because I used it a couple of times and it took forever to dry. Read: I went to bed about 8 hours later and got pillow marks on my nails. -_- It also seemed to make my polish lift almost? I think it’s just because it was so old though. I wouldn’t repurchase just because I have several other base and top coats right now that I need to get through and while it seems like a good idea to have them both in one I don’t know how well it really works.

IMG_7031

Tom’s of Maine – Natural Long Lasting Deodorant – Retails for $3.99 – Pumped

I really liked this deodorant. It smelled nice and I did too. I feel like people get confused when they switch over to natural deodorants and think that they aren’t going to sweat. There isn’t an anti-perspirant in most, if not all, natural deodorants. Correct me if I’m wrong. I haven’t searched for any because after doing some research I’ve decided that I want to allow my body to sweat vs. blocking that. Anyway, I feel like people give these deodorants bad reviews because they are still sweating, but that’s because there’s not aluminum to block the perspirant from coming…I am trying some different natural deodorants from some Etsy shops and hope to pick up at least one at the farmer’s market here so that I can support smaller businesses too, but this one worked for me.

IMG_7072

Sephora Collection – Rose Mask – Retails for $6.00 – Dumped

I feel like I got this as a sample or something? I know that I didn’t spend $6.00 for a one off sheet mask. I don’t generally like sheet masks, but I decided to give it a try. I will say that the eyes, nose and mouth holes were all in the correct places and the fabric was a decent quality so it didn’t tear while you were opening it. However, I didn’t feel like my skin was any different after I used this than it was before and I would rather spend $60 on a mask in a tube or a tub where I can get multiple uses and I can tell a difference in my skin vs. $6 for a one time use. I felt like I wasted my 20 minutes. Lol

IMG_7074

Vichy – Aqualia Thermal Rich Cream – Full size (1.7 oz) retails for $31.00 – Half Pumped

I have no idea where this came from you guys. *side eye emoji* I used it as a night cream and it worked really well for me, however, I feel like it’s definitely formulated for someone with dry skin. I am normal/oily depending on the day and it didn’t break me out or anything, but I just don’t need something so heavy. I feel like it’d be great for someone with dry/dehydrated skin though. It’s extremely moisturizing.

IMG_7085

Sephora Collection – Supreme Cleansing Foam – Discontinued. Lol – Dumped

This didn’t strip my skin like some foam cleansers can, but I had to use like 10 pumps of the stuff just for 1 face. It was really watered down. It didn’t leave behind a residue or anything and my skin felt clean afterward, but I would repurchase even if it was available because I went through this within a week or so because I had to use so much.

That’s all for now!

Thanks so much for reading and I hope that y’all have a great weekend!!

Love to Project Pan – Finish 14 by Feb 14 Update #1

Standard

Here is the first update for my second project pan challenge! ๐Ÿ™‚ You can read my intro post here for more information about it if you’re interested. I chose 14 projects to finish by Feb 14 and its been 4 1/2 weeks since my intro markings so let’s see how I’ve been doing!

IMG_6861

This is a product that I had in my previous PP challenge so just pay attention to the bottom two markings. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ve made quite the dent compared to the fact that I tried to finish it by Halloween and I barely used any at all. Lol I’m still working my way through it, but I still forget to use it sometimes to remove my makeup and just end up taking it off with my cleanser in the shower.

IMG_6864IMG_6820

I finished the Mario Badescu facial spray so I’m going to work through these two. The UD – All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray – 1 oz retails for $14.00, but I don’t particular have an issue with my makeup wearing off my face so I wouldn’t purchase a full size of this. I like it and will continue to snag these little mini sizes though. I’ve been using this to set my makeup and I’ve been using The Body Shop – ย Vitamin E Face Mist – Retails for $17.00, but usually on sale 40% for $10.20 at night or on days that I don’t wear makeup. I feel that it would work well with makeup though too and will use it over makeup when I run out of the UD.

IMG_6867

I used up The Body Shop body butter and have started using this body butter from a local place in Mississippi. They don’t have a website or anything…sorry. Trust me, I wish that they did because I’m 850 miles away now and I really like this. It is homemade and you just need the smallest amount to moisturize your entire body. It works really well and doesn’t irritate my skin or anything. It was a gift so I have no idea how much it cost.

IMG_6475

Y’all this is the same line. *cry emoji* *paints nails*

I threw away the MAC lipglass. -_- I couldn’t do it anymore and I have a backup…which I may possibly give away to be honest. It just got to the point where I couldn’t take it anymore. LOL I may just have gotten burned out on the color, but really I had the gloss for too long and it needed to go. I haven’t replaced it with a gloss at this point because I’ve been doing matte lips and I already have a lipstick duo in the mix, but we’ll see.

IMG_6865

My lighting sucks in my new place. ๐Ÿ˜ฆ I’m sorry y’all I’m trying to figure it out. There are two lines there. I’m working on it!

IMG_6862

I finished the Boscia beauty oil and have been working on this CSI – Vitamin C + 12% Youth Serum – Retails for $18.00. I got it on sale BOGO 50% off and it’s usually on some kind of sale on Vitacost. I really like it so far and feel like it has helped with my hyper pigmentation. PS I was suppose to move on to another sample size of a facial oil, but bought this instead because of my hyper pigmentation. I may add another sample in as a night oil, but we’ll see.

IMG_6868

Here is the messy paper showing my progress on my Watts Up high lighter, Chella eyebrow pencil, Bite Beauty lipstick and Sephora nano liner. I have been using the lipstick, but it hasn’t gone down at all. 0_o Also, the lip liner didn’t fit on the paper in the first picture.

IMG_6766 IMG_6863

That Dahlia Noir perfume smelled terrible to me, but my mom liked it so I gave it to her. I finished the Viva La Juicy La Fleur – 2.5 oz retails for $72.00. It smelled good, but not $72.00 good. Right now I’m working through Stella by Stella McCartney – 1.6 oz retails for $72.00 and again…it smells good, but not that good.

IMG_6739 IMG_6860

You guys. -_- I tried taking this picture so many times and I must just be shaky today. I suck today apparently. SMH Just trust me that I’ve made a lil dent in this lol.

IMG_6859 IMG_6749

So the top one is actually the most recent one…I feel like this is going to last me forever for some reason. Lol I have been using it though! As eye shadow and as bronzer so we’ll see if I ever hit pan.

Thanks so much for reading! I will check back in for another update in another month or so. ๐Ÿ™‚

Empties #15 – Would I Repurchase? (Pumped or Dumped)

Standard

Between my No Buy and my Project Pan challenge I have been running through products like crazy lately.

IMG_6592

Bath & Body Works Foaming Soap – Retails for $6.50 or 4 for $18 or 6 for $24 – Pumped, but Won’t Repurchase

I like BBW soaps, but once I’m through my stash I won’t be repurchasing aside from at the Semi-Annual Sales because I don’t find that they are any different from the cheaper soaps that you can get from Walmart or Target or even the Dollar stores and they even dry out my hands.

IMG_6654

Michael Todd – Organic Lemon AHA + DMAE TONER – Full Size Retails for $19.00 – Meh, Won’t Repurchase

I used this up, but I won’t repurchase. Especially not for $19.00. I felt like it made my skin sensitive as if it were too harsh for my skin or something. I only used it once a day, every other day. It did a good job of toning, but I just felt like it was eating my skin away or something. Lol so dramatic.

IMG_6655

Aussie – Three Minute Miracle Color Conditioning Treatment – Retails for $3.12 at Walmart – Meh again.

I don’t have dry or extremely damaged hair, but it is color treated. I felt like this just worked like a regular conditioner vs. a treatment for me. I do have ‘tangly’ hair though so I tend to prefer thicker conditioners. This is a thick conditioner, but it still didn’t feel like a hair mask or treatment. What do you want for 3 bucks right? I won’t be repurchasing.

IMG_6656

Lee Stafford – Treatment for Hair That Never Grows Past A Certain Length – Retails for $11.99 – Pumped

I love this hair mask and actually picked up and have finished two of these. They were BOGO Free or 50% off. I don’t remember now, but I feel like they have helped with my hair fall as well as strength and growth. Several people have commented on my hair length recently and I can’t really attribute it 100% to this mask as hair is bound to grow by itself, but I will be keeping an eye out for these to go on sale again.

IMG_6657

Michael Todd – Jojoba Charcoal Facial Scrub – Full Size Retails for $19.00 – Meh

I liked this scrub, but I didn’t really feel like it did incredible or amazing things to my skin and I didn’t notice a difference after I ran out. For that reason, I won’t be purchasing the full size.

IMG_6659

Fresh – Lotus Youth Preserve Face Cream – Full Size Retails for $42.00 – Pumped, but won’t purchase

I really liked this face cream and it smelled really fresh…see what I did there? ๐Ÿ™‚ But really, it smelled like cucumbers. I liked the way it made my skin feel, but I wouldn’t purchase for several reasons. For $42.00 I don’t like that it comes in a jar because the product is exposed to air and light and dirty (even if washed) fingers making it contaminated and the ingredients become unstable. It also doesn’t include any SPF and I’m not incredibly impressed with the ingredient list. Smelled good though. LOL

IMG_6666

Bath & Body Works – Hand Cream – Retails for $5.00 or 3 for $12.00 – Pumped, but won’t repurchase

I’ve found another hand cream that I like better from Sally’s for cheaper that works better. This smelled nice and worked okay, but I don’t think that it worked any better than a good lotion. The hand cream from Sally’s worked like an actual hand cream.

First Aid Beauty – Ultra Repair Cream – Retails for $6.50 in different packaging – Pumped

I don’t have eczema, but I got a scaly patch on my elbow that wouldn’t go away no matter what I did and this took it away within days. I don’t generally have dry skin, however now that I’ve moved to Indiana my skin is semi-freaking out and I found a big tub of this stuff that I think I got in a POPSUGAR box and it has been saving some dry patches for sure.

IMG_6676

Michael Todd – Cleanse and Tone – Retails for $7.00 – Meh

I found that this did a good job of cleansing my skin, but I still needed to tone afterward and I think that it is strange to market something that cleanses and tones at the same time. Especially when this came in a set with a matching toner……, but who am I to judge? Lol Anyway, I wouldn’t purchase the full size of this just for the cleanser because I find that other cleansers work just as well and it didn’t clear up my skin at all. Maybe if it actually cleansed and toned I would pay for the full size product, but since it doesn’t it’s not worth it to me.

IMG_6684

Ole Henriksen – Sheer Transformation – Retails for $14.00 – Meh

I liked this moisturizer, but I didn’t find that it did anything spectacular to my skin. It was nice and lightweight, but again…it’s in an open jar, there isn’t any SPF and the ingredients don’t wow me.

IMG_6686

Rimmel – Scandaleyes Retro Glam Mascara – Retails for $5.99 – Pumped

I really liked this mascara, but the brush isn’t my favorite. (Blogger fail for not taking a picture of the brush……) I would still consider repurchasing because the formula did great things for my lashes. I would prefer to purchase the waterproof formula, but this was sent to my by Influenster. I prefer the waterproof formula because it holds the curl better.

IMG_6707

Urban Decay – All Nighter Makeup Setting Spray – 1oz Retails for $14.00 – Pumped

This setting spray worked really well to make my makeup last all day. I don’t need my makeup to last for very long very often so I wouldn’t purchase the big bottle of this, but I would consider purchasing the 1 oz when I am out of all of my current setting sprays.

That’s all of my empties for right now! Thank you so much for reading and I hope that your week is going great and that the weather is still holding up for you wherever you are.

Love to Project Pan – Finish 14 by Feb 14 Intro – Project Pan Challenge #2

Standard

I had a lot of fun with my first PP Challenge (Finish 13 by Halloween) so I am going to jump right into the Love to Project Pan – Finish 14 by Feb 14 Challenge that was started by Kristen Kay and GlamourWithGrace on YouTube. The links will take you to their videos if you’re interested. ๐Ÿ™‚

I am going to include some of the same things from my last PP Challenge that I didn’t get to finish because I have been enjoying them so much. Here are the 14 products that I have chosen.

IMG_6731

Boscia – Makeup-Breakup Cool Cleansing Oil – Retails for $10.00

I really enjoy this cleansing oil, but I haven’t been wearing makeup until moving back to Indiana recently and I am trying to simplify my skincare routine so I would be replacing this with coconut oil.

IMG_6732

Mario Badescu – Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb and Rosewater – Retails for $7.00

I really like this facial spray, but again I would be replacing this with just rosewater or making my own facial spray similar to it without the fragrances and dyes. ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_6733 IMG_6734

The Body Shop – Blueberry Body Butter (scent is discontinued) – Retails for $21.00 or 40% off or Buy 3 Get 3 Free or Buy 2 Get 1 Free, whatever Sale they have going on

I really like TBS body butters, but I have a million of them and I need to get through my stash. This one smells really good I just need to remember to use it! Lol

IMG_6475

Orly – Rubberized Base Coat – Retails for $10.00

I promise to start painting my nails again starting tomorrow! Lol I love this base coat, but I need to use it up before it starts getting goopy.

IMG_6474

MAC – Lipglass in Nymphette – Retails for $15.00

Y’all…I’m GOING to get through this lip gloss.

IMG_6735

Bath & Body Works – Fine Fragrance Mist in Carried Away – Retails for $14.00

I really need to get through my body sprays. Well really my fragrances in general. I finished a VS Bombshell one last PP Challenge so I’m hoping to get through this one this challenge.

IMG_6736

Boscia – Tsubaki Beauty Oil – Full Size Retails for $46.00

I’m desperately trying to get through my sample sizes and have a million facial oils so here is my first one. If I make it through this one then I will replace it with the next one in line. I like the way this makes my skin feel. It absorbs quickly and seems to plump my skin and make it glow. I don’t know that I would spring for $46.00 though…we’ll see.

IMG_6737

Benefit – Watt’s Up Cream-to-Powder Highlighter – Full Size Retails for $30.00

This is still from my birthday perk from last year and my birthday is November 9th so I figured it was time to start using it up. ๐Ÿ™‚ I do like it I just don’t reach for it very often. I hope that putting it in this challenge will help me use it up quickly.

IMG_6738

Chella – Dazzling Dark Brown Eyebrow Color Pencil – Retails for $18.00

I got this in some subscription box and it’s probably a bad time to put it in a PP challenge because I just colored my hair a dark red/brown color, but we’ll see if I can make it work. Lol I am blessed withย pretty full brows naturally so I do not fill them in very often so I don’t know if I’ll use this up very quickly or not.

IMG_6740

Sephora Collection – Nano Lip Liner in Queen Quartz – Discontinued

I do like this lip liner, but I am trying to use up my collection and figured that starting with a tiny liner would be a good idea. ๐Ÿ™‚ Starting with a discontinued liner was probably not a good idea though. Lol

IMG_6739

Cream Shadow from the Lorac Pro Palette

I am going to attempt to pan my first shadow during this PP Challenge. I’ve never done it before, but I chose a neutral shadow and I went with a Lorac shadow at that so I’m hoping that it will be a piece of cake. ๐Ÿ™‚

IMG_6746

Perfume Samples in General because I have an insane amount. 0_o Lol I’m hoping to finish 5

This one is Dahlia Noir and I haven’t even smelled it yet. I just grabbed one off of the pile of perfume samples and decided to start with this one. Lol

IMG_6748

IMG_6747

Bite Beauty – Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo in Fig/Date – Retails for $14.00

I have only used this a few times. I am not a huge fan of how Fig (on the left) looks on me so I am really just shooting to use up Date and use up as much of Fig as possible I guess. Maybe it will grow on me. Fig is a permanent color while Date is not unfortunately, but I have a million and 4 lipsticks and I’m sure I can find a similar color in my stash. I love this formula though!

IMG_6749

Benefit – Hoola Bronzer – Full Size Retails for $28.00

I really like this bronzer, but I have a couple more mini sizes I think and I also have a million bronzers to try and get through so I am going to try and at least hit pan on this one.

There are my 14 products that I’d like to use up by Valentine’s Day! I was adventurous and included several makeup items this time so I’m interested to see how it works out. ๐Ÿ™‚ I’ll do a couple of updates before the finale this time since I have more time.

Thanks so much for reading! โค

Finish 13 by Halloween Finale – Project Pan

Standard

Intro Post

Update Post

So I’ve finished my first Project Pan and I’ve definitely learned some things along the way! I have moved from Mississippi to Indiana so I don’t have pictures of some of the things that I have finished. I just tossed them out without thinking as I was in the middle of furiously packing. ๐Ÿ™‚

Olay Regenerist Thermal Mini Peel – Finished! I set this out on my sink and it got used up a lot faster than it did in my shower. I really liked this peel and would repurchase if it weren’t discontinued.

Queen Helene’s Mint Julep Mask – Finished! I really love this mask and will repurchase when I get through the insane stash of face masks that I’ve been hoarding.

Victoria’s Secret Bombshell Body Mist – Finished! This smelled nice, but the scent didn’t last very long so I won’t be repurchasing.

IMG_6732

Mario Badescu Facial Spray with Aloe, Herb and Rosewater – So close. I’m going to add this to my next PP Challenge because I really like using it and have been using it consistently, but I just couldn’t finish it in time.

Daily Microfoliant from Dermalogica – Finished and started a new one. I really like this stuff and will consider purchasing the full size product when I am finished with this second travel size bottle.

IMG_6731

Boscia Makeup Breakup Cleansing Oil – Lol Whelp…I have started wearing makeup more often now that I’ve moved back home to Indiana, but I still haven’t put much of a dent in this cleansing oil. I will put this in my next PP Challenge as well. (Pay no attention to my chipped nail please.)

IMG_6674

Rue 21โ€™s Pink Ice Perfume – This was almost done so when I moved I just called it empty and tossed it. It smelled okay, but the scent didn’t last very long at all and it was more like a body splash so I wouldn’t repurchase it and it wasn’t worth taking up space in a box for me to pack it.

IMG_6697

Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush in Candy Coral – I feel like this crap is going to last forever. This is one of the valuable lessons I learned during this PP Challenge. Lol While I liked this blush it doesn’t take very much product at all so this will last quite a while and I don’t know why I felt like I would even hit pan by Halloween.

Dior Creme de Rose Smoothing Plumping Lip Balm – Finished! I liked this lip balm, but I wasn’t blown away and I don’t really like potted lip balms so I wouldn’t repurchase. Especially for it’s price point.

IMG_6678

Mac Cosmetics Eye Shadow in either All That Glitters or Dazzlelight – I didn’t make much of a dent in this shadow, but I ended up tossing it because it was crumbling pretty bad and as I mentioned it was about 15 years old and I should have tossed it awhile ago. I have plenty of shadows this shade so I shouldn’t miss it much. Lol

IMG_6474

Mac Cosmetics Lipglass in Nymphette – Y’all this is the same picture from the update post, but I have been using it. I’m not even kidding. I left it standing up for a couple of days and went to mark it and it was still at the same line. 0_o I want to just throw it away and be done, but I can’t bring myself to do it. Lol

IMG_6475

Orly Bonder Rubberized Basecoat – This is the same picture from the update post as well because I think that I’ve painted my nails once in the past month. :-/ Moving cross country takes a lot out of you and pampering yourself is not very high on your list of things to do. I just now got my eyebrows done for the first time in about 6-8 weeks and they hadn’t been touched. LOL They looked atrocious. My sister cut and colored my hair for me too so I suppose my nails are next in line. I’ll add this to my next PP challenge and see if we can get through it.

IMG_6733 IMG_6734

That Satsuma body butter had gone bad and was separating so I tossed it and replaced it with this Blueberry body butter by The Body Shop. I didn’t get very far as I mentioned I haven’t been pampering myself and I suppose moisturizing falls into that category. Lol I will add this to my next PP Challenge as well.

Overview: Out of my original 13 products I finished 6 with a bonus Jack Black lipgloss making it 7. I then added in 2 more products that I finished for a total of 9 finished products! Not bad for my first Project Pan challenge. ๐Ÿ™‚ I am going to be doing the Love to Project Pan – Finish 14 by Feb 14 Challenge so keep an eye out for that post if you’re interested in Project Pan posts. I also have an empties post that I’m working on.

Thanks so much for reading! I hope that y’all have a great week! ๐Ÿ™‚
